Natural essential oils:
- Rosemary
- Cedar – Musky Cedarwood oil is toxic to ticks and their larvae. It is safe to apply to people and pets, and is a natural and safe way to repel not only ticks, but also other nasty insects.
- Citronella – Citronellas essential oil in combination with Thyme essential oil works wonderful against ticks, mosquitos and other insects. The smell scares them off. It is safe to use on humans and dogs, important is not to use too much (5ml per 4kg weight).
- Lemongrass
- Geranium – especially effective !!
- Lavender – It is safe to use topically not only on humans and infants, but in a very small quantities can be a very efficient against ticks and other nasty insects when applied moderately on dogs.
Incorporating these oils to sprays or applying them in both ways on skin, fabric or plants in your surrounding as well as doorways, keeps the ticks always.
