As we know, our furry friends age differently than us. It is important to know in which age category your dog is in order to apply a correct diet which is necessary for their age group.
Small Dogs (under 9kg)
Medium Dogs (9 – 22.7kg)
Large Dogs (23 – 45.4kg)
As we can see, the larger the dog, the faster they age, especially starting from the age of 7 – 8 years. This why it is very common that by regular checkup, veterinarians might be pointing out at the development of aging conditions.
Also, starting from the age of 7, very often veterinarians find chronically health conditions which are very typical for certain breeds.
Knowing the age of your dog gives us better understanding on the amounts of physical activities they need, and how the food is getting processed by their organism in order to obtain all necessary nutrients.
